History of Military Dogs Dogs have been used in the military since WWI as couriers, sentries flushing out the enemy & catching bad guys. Today, these highly trained dogs are used for detecting narcotics, explosives, tracking, community ambassadors, & of course, catching bad guys. This IAVA movie screening of Max is for folks who have a special place in their hearts for the incredible bond that dogs share with their humans. æAnd here in LA, this is going to be an amazing combination for a great family event. I was an Animal Care SGT in the US Army, so I helped keep these dogs healthy, provided emergency care when needed, & just enjoyed them & their amazing handlers. Dogs At the Screening ***Service Dogs, police dogs that were in the military, & Active Duty/ Retired Military Working Dogs are welcome & encouraged to come out! If your dog does not fall into any of thoseæcategories, please leave them at home.**** Please remember to ask the handler if it's ok to pet their K9 before doing so, & ensure your children do the same. Max Coloring Contest for the Kids! Please send me an email ( Tracey@iava.org) & I will forward you pictures for your child to color Max. Have them bring their picture to the screening with your name & your child's name to enter. Even if your little one isn't in attendance, they can still have an adult who is coming to the event bring in their picture for a chance to win. 2 winners will be chosen at random. The prize is a Max T-shirt! After the Movie If there's interest, we can hang out at a restaraunt at LA live once the movie ends at 1pm. This can give folks an opportunity to connect, ask IAVA associates any questions/provide feedback, & relax. Please know this is optional, as I know many of you have obligations after this event. Thank you all for your patience & interest in Max! We're looking forward to seeing you on June 27th! Max Trailer via YouTube: https://youtu.be/s153KzNDmAI Tracey |
